"Award-winning British animators Aardman are set to return to cinemas after a six-year hiatus with their first stop-motion film since Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Production is nearing completion on The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists, which is due to be released in March 2012.

Hugh Grant has been cast in the lead role – his first in an animated film – playing a captain attempting to win the pirate of the year award.

Peter Lord, the co-director of Pirates!, said: "Hugh Grant has given a stand-out performance – he combines an effortless on-screen warmth with brilliant comic timing." Queen Victoria and Charles Darwin also make appearances, voiced by Imelda Staunton and David Tennant respectively.

The film is based on a comic novel by Gideon Defoe, who has also written the film's screenplay. It marks Aardman's first feature-film collaboration with Hollywood studio Sony Pictures Entertainment, after making three full-length films with Dreamworks." Quote from guardian.co.uk

The metal dress was part of my final year project at London College of Fashion. The work was exhibited alongside Damien Hirst at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2009.

I worked on this with Sofie Layton whilst doing work experience at London College of Fashion. The globe was originally used in 2009 for the Greenwich Festival, but I recently found out it was exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery!! She is a puppet maker. Visit her site.

I also helped her make some running men for for the Greenwich festival using the same copper sheet hammering patterning.
